What an elopement is
An elopement is not a smaller wedding. It is a different day, built around the two of you instead of the guest list.
Who it is for
Three kinds of small.
- Just the two of youVows said to each other, with nobody watching. I stay back, and the day is entirely yours.
- The two of you and a few moreParents, children, a best friend or two. Small enough that everyone is part of it, not watching it.
- A wedding, made smallA short ceremony, a long lunch and an evening with the people who matter most. All the meaning, none of the logistics.

Intimacy is the point
Room for the things a big day squeezes out.
In a small day there are no crowds to manage and no timeline to chase. That leaves room for reading your vows privately, a long hug, and a walk with nowhere to be. I photograph those quietly, from a distance when you want space and close when you want company.
You will not be herded into poses. A few simple prompts, then I get out of the way.
Tell me who is coming

A day could go like this
Yours will be different. This is the shape.
- A slow morningGetting ready together, or apart for a first look. Nobody is rushing you.
- The ceremonyShort, personal and wherever feels like you.
- Portraits in the best lightWe choose the hour for the light, not for a venue’s schedule.
- Then, nothingDinner, a picnic, a swim, a nap. The rest of the day is yours.
Wherever feels like you
A hilltop, a path, a quiet pond.
A headland at sunrise, a bush track, a vineyard, a rooftop, a beach with nobody on it. Sydney has all of it. Further afield? Eight countries so far, from Barbados to China.

He was just as excited as we were about eloping to a waterfall in the middle of nowhere, and his video reflects this.
What you will arrange yourself
The few things that are yours to organise.
- A celebrantA legal marriage in Australia needs an authorised celebrant. I photograph the day, and your celebrant makes it official.
- Your notice of intended marriageIt has to be lodged with your celebrant at least one month before the day. Your celebrant will walk you through it.
- A place, and permission if it needs itSome public places need a permit for a ceremony or a photo session. Tell me where you are thinking and we will work it out.
- What you wear and holdOutfits, flowers, hair and makeup. I will tell you honestly what works in the light.
